First Time Visitor?
When you’re visiting a church for the first time, you probably have some questions and maybe even a few worries. Let’s address some of the most common questions we get so that you’ll know what to expect before you arrive.
What to expect on your first visit
HOW SHOULD I DRESS?
Casual is who we are. We care about YOU, not what you’re wearing! We want you to feel welcome just as you are! Our dress code is simple: wear something.
WHERE SHOULD I PARK?
The best way to arrive at the Immanuel Ministry Center is from China Lake Boulevard. Use the driveway nearest the Immanuel digital sign.
Park in any available parking stalls. There are marked guest parking stalls near the entry on the south end of the Ministry Center.
AFTER I PARK, HOW DO I GET TO THE SERVICE?
The entrance to the church is up the steps which lead to the double doors on the south side facing Ridgecrest Regional Hospital.
When you enter the door into the lobby, you will find our Connection Center with friendly greeters who are happy to give you directions or answer your questions.
KID-FRIENDLY?
We’ve invested a lot of time and resources into creating fun environments for your kids to hear about God.
If you have young children, we recommend arriving about 10-15 minutes before the service, so you will not feel rushed.
The nursery/preschool care is located at the north end of the building. Children are welcome to stay with their parents for the service,
but we do have a high-energy, fun learning environment just for kids while Mom and Dad are in church.
Our goal with our Kids Church is that they will have so much fun learning about God that they will beg you to bring them back next week!
FOOD AND DRINK?
Grab a beverage and doughnut from our dining hall during our Coffee & Fellowship time at 10:15 a.m. Drinks are allowed in the Chapel, so make yourself comfortable.
WHERE DO I SIT DURING THE SERVICE?
We have volunteer ushers and greeters who will welcome you as you enter. You can choose to sit in the dining hall or the Chapel.
An usher will hand you our program and direct you to a seat inside the Chapel. Once you’re seated, just kick back, relax, and enjoy the service.
During the service, you’ll hear us talk about tithes and offerings. Do not feel obligated to participate in that as a visitor.
Giving is an act of worship for those who consider this place to be their church home.
CONTEMPORARY OR TRADITIONAL?
We meet in the Chapel of the Immanuel Ministry Center at 10:30 a.m. In our service, we use a mix of contemporary praise songs and
traditional hymns for worship, followed by a time of preaching. Our Worship Service lasts about 70 minutes.
All services are “Live Streamed” onto Facebook and then uploaded onto the church's website.
DO YOU HAVE BIBLE STUDIES?
We have a wide selection of Bible Study classes for all ages, infants to senior adults, at 9:15 a.m.
It’s easier to get to know others who are in a similar stage of life when you participate in a Bible Study class.
Our Mission is to "Help All People Love and Follow Jesus" and this requires working hard at communicating God’s Word relevantly for every stage of life!
